Welcome To Damauli

Damauli is the headquarter of Tanahun district which lies in Gandaki Zone. Damauli is a well-planned city in Nepal which designed was developed by Ex-prime minister Baburam Bhattarai. Damauli is the hometown of different castes like Magar, Darai, Brahmin, Chhetris, Dura and Gurung. It is believed that there is approx 50000 population in Damauli today.

Damauli also carries tourist importance too. People from different countries come here to enjoy white water rafting to fulfill their adventure quest. Besides rafting, one can hike to Manung Hill which offers the panoramic view of snow-capped mountains along with a birds-eye view of Damauli Bazar. You also can visit Bandipur which used to be the district headquarter previously, however, it was shifted to Damauli lately.

Manung Kot(Danda)

Manung Kot lies in the Tanahun District of Western Nepal. Approximately at a distance of 43 KM from Pokhara and 150 KM from Kathmandu. And at an altitude of 1,000 mts (approx.) above the sea level.

Lately, Manung Kot is gaining a lot of attraction among the internal tourists of Nepal. Early in the morning, the hill is covered/filled with clouds/fog. And when you reach the top of the hill, you’ll just feel like you’re in heaven (floating above the clouds).The clips of this place are also getting viral on social media like TikTok and instagram.Not only for its natural beauty, Manung Kot is also popular for its history. It is also known as the home of Nepal’s first poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharyas in-laws.

It is believed that “The fog was created from this place”.

The myth goes like this, “Maharishi Parasar was in love with Machhegand (mother of Maharishi Bed Byas). And to hide his love relation, Maharishi Parasar created this fog.”
